The Stash It Forward Program (the “Program”) is a promotional referral program offered by Stash Investments LLC (“Stash”) where existing Stash customers may be rewarded for referring their friends to Stash. This Program is not offered or administered by Stash Capital LLC (“Stash Capital”). The Program is subject to the terms and conditions stated herein (the “Program Terms”) as well as the specific terms that correspond with the invitation and referral link you use to invite your friends to participate hereunder. To qualify for the cash bonuses or stock rewards described below, your referee friend must open a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio (as defined below) or a Qualifying New Banking Account (as defined below) in accordance with these Program Terms. By choosing to participate in the Program, you are accepting and agreeing to these Program Terms. These Program Terms form an agreement between you and Stash with respect to the Program. You should read these Program Terms carefully.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in this Program and receive cash bonuses or stock rewards, you must satisfy the following requirements:
(i) you must have an individual taxable brokerage account advised by Stash that is in good standing (a “Personal Portfolio”),
(ii) you must send a designated referral invitation to a referee friend in accordance with these Program Terms, and
(iii) your referee friend must complete the designated registration process for opening a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account by interacting with the link included in your referral invitation.
To constitute a "Qualifying New Personal Portfolio" hereunder, your referee friend must (i) complete the designated registration process for opening a Personal Portfolio by using the special designated referral link included in your invitation, (ii) link a funding source (e.g. an external bank account) to their Personal Portfolio, and (iii) initiate and complete a minimum deposit of at least one cent ($0.01) from their funding source into their Personal Portfolio.
To constitute a “Qualifying New Banking Account” hereunder, your referee friend must (i) complete the designated registration process for opening a Stash banking account powered by an unaffiliated FDIC Member partner bank (“Partner Bank”) that is in good standing (a “Stash Banking account”) by using the special designated referral link included in your invitation, (ii) link a funding source (e.g. an external bank account) to their Stash Banking account, and (iii) initiate and complete a minimum deposit of at least one cent ($0.01) from their funding source into their Stash Banking account.
For the avoidance of doubt, in the event you or your referee friend only complete the designated registration process to receive the Financial Counseling Service (if applicable, as such term is defined in your Advisory Agreement) from Stash, or you or your referee friend do not otherwise complete the designated registration process for opening a Personal Portfolio or a Stash Banking account (as applicable) in accordance with these Program Terms, you or your referee friend will not be eligible to participate in this Promotion. For purposes of this program, a deposit of funds shall be considered complete once the transaction has fully settled in an account.
Stash and/or Partner Bank reserve the right to determine in our/its sole or joint discretion whether an account is closed and/or in good standing. An account in good standing for purposes of this Program is an account for which all required account opening documentation has been completed and verified, and is not locked, or restricted, or otherwise flagged in any way. If either account is closed or not in good standing for any reason at any time, any cash bonuses or stock rewards awarded hereunder will be forfeited.
Cash Bonuses & Stock Rewards
Subject to these Program Terms, after your referee friend opens either a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account, whichever occurs first, Stash will compensate you and your referee friend in the form of either a cash bonus or a stock reward (as described below). At the time you send a designated referral invitation to any your referee friends, you and your referee friend will receive a unique offer message directly from Stash that will include the type of compensation (e.g. a cash bonus or a stock reward) and the exact amount of such compensation that you and your referee friend will be eligible to receive.
You understand that your referring friend may be eligible to receive additional cash bonuses or stock rewards for referral invitations they send to any of their other referee friends that open either a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or Qualifying New Banking Account in accordance with the terms of the Program.
The maximum amount of compensation that you may be rewarded under this Program, in the aggregate, either in the form of cash bonuses or stock rewards is $1,000 in the preceding twelve (12) calendar months, which shall be determined by Stash in its sole discretion. For the avoidance of doubt, in the event you and your referee friend are offered a reward hereunder, and your referee friend opens up both a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio and a Qualifying New Banking Account in accordance with these Program Terms, you and your referee friend will each only be eligible to claim one (1) reward, as specified in your offer.
Cash Bonuses
If you and your referee friend are offered a cash bonus from Stash, then upon your referee friend opening either a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account, whichever occurs first:
Any cash bonus deposited by Stash hereunder is a fixed cash value and does not constitute stock or any other security, nor is it a recommendation to buy any specific stock or other security. The value of any cash bonus awarded hereunder may be taxable income to you. You are responsible for any federal or state taxes resulting from receipt of a cash bonus. Please consult your tax advisor if you have questions about the tax treatment of a cash bonus. Each cash bonus must remain in your Personal Portfolio for ninety (90) days beginning from the date the cash bonus is deposited in such account and for the entirety of the 90-day period, which shall be determined by Stash in its sole discretion.
Stock Rewards
The term stock reward (“Stock Reward”) hereunder means a fractional or whole share of stock of a certain publicly-traded company and/or exchange-traded fund (“ETF”) that Stash offers to you and your referee friend as a form of compensation under this Program.
If you and your referee friend are offered a Stock Reward, then upon your referee friend opening either a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account, whichever occurs first, the following will apply:
Stash reserves the right to modify the stock reward and cash bonus amount at its discretion.
In order to accept a Stock Reward hereunder, you must claim your Stock Reward by completing the interactive instructions on the Stash Platform (as defined below) within seven (7) calendar days from the date that your referee friend opens either a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account, whichever occurs first (“Offer Period”). If you fail to claim a Stock Reward during any Offer Period, you will forfeit that specific Stock Reward and Stash will instead deposit a cash reward into your Personal Portfolio corresponding to the value of your Stock Reward. Stash reserves the right to determine whether you’ve claimed a Stock Reward hereunder, and may reward any such replacement cash bonuses in its sole discretion. Any cash bonuses that replace a Stock Reward remain subject to these Program Terms.
Stash will determine the list of such publicly-traded companies and/or ETFs that may comprise a Stock Reward in its sole discretion from all publicly-traded securities available for purchase on the Stash Platform, and may change the publicly-traded companies and/or ETFs that may comprise a Stock Reward hereunder from time-to-time in its sole discretion without notice to you.
Crediting a Stock Reward to Your Personal Portfolio
By accepting an offer to earn a Stock Reward hereunder, you are making a decision to invest in that specific underlying stock and you agree that it is your responsibility to review and carefully consider the stock, including the information available to you through the Stash applications and website (collectively, the “Stash Platform”) about such stock, before choosing to accept a Stock Reward hereunder. Neither this Program itself, nor the stock available to be earned through it, is a recommendation to buy any such specific stock. The value of any Stock Reward you receive may fluctuate over time due to a variety of factors. Please refer to the Stash Platform for a list of all investments that are available for purchase. Stash reserves the right to change the list of investments available on the Stash Platform at any time and from time to time in its sole discretion.
To deliver a Stock Reward to your Personal Portfolio, Stash will convert the monetary amount of your Stock Reward into a stock position based on the reported lowest execution price of the relevant stock from the current business day, and Stash will direct Stash Capital to purchase those shares of stock in its proprietary account (“Stash Capital Proprietary Account”). Upon the trade settlement date, Stash will instruct Stash Capital to journal the Stock Reward position to your Personal Portfolio through a journal entry. If a Stock Reward transaction completes outside of the trading window to fulfill Stock Rewards (a” Rewards Window)” on the current trading day and before the start of the Rewards Window on the next trading day, the reported lowest execution price of the stock on the next trading day shall be used.
By accepting an offer to earn a Stock Reward, you are authorizing Stash to direct, and Stash Capital to execute, orders to buy the specific stock offered to you through a journal entry from the Stash Capital Proprietary Account. Any stock reward may take up to four (4) business days to be reflected in your Personal Portfolio. For the avoidance of doubt, you have the ability to decline the offer to earn any stock reward and receive a cash bonus instead, or the ability to subsequently sell any stock reward earned under this Program after you receive it in your Personal Portfolio, provided, however, that in each such case, the replacement cash bonus or the sale proceeds must remain in your Personal Portfolio for ninety (90) days beginning from the date the cash bonus or the stock reward is initially deposited in your Personal Portfolio and for the entirety of the 90-day period, which shall be determined by Stash in its sole discretion. For additional information related to your Stock Reward, you may review the transaction details in the portfolio activity section available through the Stash Platform. In order to fulfill your Stock Rewards, Stash and Stash Capital have entered into an agreement whereby Stash Capital, an affiliate of Stash (also referred to as “Service Provider”), is paid a service fee (“Service Fee”) to purchase and manage stock inventory (“Inventory”) in the Stash Capital Proprietary Account.
By participating in the Program, you grant Stash the limited discretionary authority required to complete the securities transaction necessary to complete each Stock Reward. This discretionary authority is in addition to the limited discretionary authority you have already granted to Stash pursuant to the Advisory Agreement, as amended, that you agreed to when you opened your Personal Portfolio. Accordingly, your acceptance of these Program Terms and participation in the Program expressly amends and modifies your Advisory Agreement as of the date you initially accept these terms, and you are hereby notified of such amendment and modification by these terms.
Referral Invitations
By participating in the Program, you agree to only send referral invitations to interested people you know personally, such as friends, family and known acquaintances (“friends”), by utilizing the referral link and sharing tools provided by Stash. You may send one invite in your name to each friend you invite, and you may not share referrals with yourself. By choosing to participate in this Program, you expressly acknowledge and accept that the friends you refer will be able to tell that you sent them an invitation to participate in this Program and that you have a Stash account. Unless explicitly approved and authorized in writing by Stash, you may not make any statements to the friends you refer about Stash’s investment advisory products or services, or about your experiences as a Stash customer. You also agree not to make any statements that are untruthful, factually inaccurate, or misleading. You hereby acknowledge that any modification or efforts to bypass, manipulate, obscure or otherwise modify the delivery and accurate presentation of the referral link, sharing tools, content, disclosures or other materials and instructions we provide will be considered a violation of these Program Terms and may render you ineligible to participate in the Program. Separate program terms will apply to your referee friend’s invitation.
You agree not to publish or distribute your referral link in locations where the audience is likely to include individuals you do not know or who may not be interested in Stash, such as third party websites or platforms, including social media platforms. Stash reserves the right to refuse to offer or pay any cash bonuses or Stock Rewards to you if it determines that you have failed to comply with the preceding sentence.
To the extent you decide to share your referral link using a third party’s service, such as a messaging application, you must also comply with that third party’s terms of use. You should also be aware that by engaging in such activity via a third party service you will be at your own risk subjecting yourself to that third party’s privacy, security and consumer practices and policies, which Stash does not endorse or control and that those third party services may be able to tell, based on your activity, that you are a Stash customer.
In referring friends in accordance with these Program Terms you are acting on behalf of Stash and under the supervision and control of Stash and hereby agree to perform duties under these Program Terms in a manner consistent with the instructions of Stash. You agree to limit the information you provide in connection with the referral to the referral web page and content provided by Stash. You agree that your participation in the Program will conform to these Program Terms as well as the provisions of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, 15 U.S.C. § 80b-1, and the rules thereunder.
Any referral invitations for this Program that either (i) were sent prior to the Effective Date where the referee friend has not as of the Effective Date created unique login credentials with Stash (e.g. username and password), or (ii) are sent on or after the Effective Date, will expire ninety (90) calendar days from the date that such referee friend creates their unique login credentials with Stash (e.g. username and password). If your referral invitation expires and your referee friend has not already created unique login credentials with Stash (e.g. username and password), then you will be eligible to send future invitations to your referee friend under this Program. If your referral invitation expires after your referee friend has already created unique login credentials with Stash (e.g. username and password), then you will not be eligible to send any future invitations to that referee friend (or earn cash bonuses or Stock Rewards) under this Program.
Legal Representations
You hereby represent that (you do not have a "place of business" at which you regularly provide investment advisory services, solicit, meet with, or otherwise communicate with customers, or any other location that is held out to the general public as a location at which you provide investment advisory services, solicit, meet with, or otherwise communicate with customers in any U.S. state. If you cannot accurately make the preceding representation, you may not participate in the Program. If you are currently participating in the Program and the preceding representation becomes inaccurate, you agree to immediately inform Stash by contacting us at support@stash.com.
Changes To These Program Terms
We may modify these Program Terms from time to time which will be indicated by changing the date at the top of this page. We will indicate that changes have been made by updating the “Effective Date” located above at the beginning of these Program Terms. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by email (sent to the email address specified in your account), by means of a notice on the Stash Platform prior to the change becoming effective, or as otherwise required by law. Notwithstanding anything herein, we do not have to provide you with prior notice of any amendments to the Program that are beneficial to you. Your continued access to or use of the Program after we make any changes to these Program Terms will be subject to the revised Program Terms, and you will be deemed to be aware of and bound by your continued access to or participation in the Program. If you do not accept any such revisions or changes, your sole and exclusive remedy is to cease participation in the Program. The Program may be canceled at any time without notice to you.
Other Program Information
The term “Stash” refers to Stash Investments LLC. Stash is not responsible for incorrect entry or other failure on the part of your referee friends to meet the standards of a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account. You cannot earn cash bonuses or Stock Rewards for referring individuals who already have a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account or for individuals who have been referred by someone else. If two or more individuals invite the same referee friend to open a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio or a Qualifying New Banking Account, Stash will credit the cash bonus or Stock Reward to the person whose special designated referral link was first used by that referee friend to complete their designated registration process with Stash. Tax-advantaged accounts (including Stash Retire and Stash Custodial accounts) and a Stash Smart Portfolio are not eligible as part of this Program.

This Program is not valid with any other offers and is non-transferrable. Program available to U.S. residents only. If you violate these Program Terms in any way, Stash reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove you from the Program or deny any cash bonuses or Stock Rewards awarded hereunder. The Program is void where prohibited by law. Other restrictions may apply.
Stash reserves the right to limit the amount of cash bonuses or Stock Rewards you are eligible to receive, and to refuse or recover any cash bonuses or stock rewards if Stash determines that it was obtained under wrongful or fraudulent circumstances, or was awarded to you in error, or that inaccurate or incomplete information was provided in opening the account, or that any terms of the Advisory Agreement, Terms of Use, or these Program Terms have been violated. Stash reserves the right to suspend, cancel, terminate or modify this Program and/or these Program Terms at any time at its sole discretion.

If, for any reason, this Program is not capable of running as planned, whether due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Stash which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Program, Stash reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with this Program, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Program. In the event of termination, Stash may in its sole discretion award cash bonuses or Stock Rewards (as applicable) to those who have satisfied the eligibility criteria set forth herein up until the time of termination. Stash assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, this Program. Stash is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Stash on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Program.
